Here you will find some FAQs which may help with any queries you may have.
1Can I come on PropSki if I can’t ski or board?
Certainly, approximately 10% of PropSki attendees have either never skied or boarded or have only been once before. It’s a very cost effective way to learn as we offer beginner packages which provide cheaper rental and lessons. All PropSki beginners will be in the same lessons and its a great way to bond with industry peers. There are also plenty of other non-ski activities for you to participate in around the resort, for times when you need a ski break (rock climbing / spa facilities / gym / après ski etc.). Why not follow the lead of Akash Bhuwanee, Development Manager at South Central Management who can be found carving up the slopes on his ski-scooter!
2Who usually goes to PropSki?
Last year we had over 300 attendees from over 90 companies. There will be industry professionals aged between 20-65 yr olds. PropSki is attended by a wide range of property professionals with a shared passion for skiing. There is a range of delegates attending PropSki from 25-50+ year olds from Graduate level to Director level. There will be professional service providers (QS, PM, BS, Valuers), Investors, Funds, Architects, Agents, Developers and PropCo’s to name a few. Our aim is to improve the trip year on year, promoting inclusivity by keeping the number of attendees within 300 to ensure that everyone has a chance to get to know each other. Since PropSki’s inception, attendance targets have been surpassed growing from 100 attendees in 2013 to over 300 in 2017 and 2018 consecutively.
3Will I be skiing with people of similar ability?
We aim to put people in rooms of similar ability. If you are having lessons or during the guided tour day you will be put in groups relevant to your experience / skill level. In the morning over breakfast is also a great opportunity to find people who have similar aspirations of mountain coverage / pace etc.
4How do you meet people if you’re skiing?
There will be a central meeting point located very close to the hotel where it will be possible to join up with others for a day on the piste. We also have a range of activities, events & facilities throughout the trip which will provide you with plenty of opportunities to meet industry professionals you couldn’t catch on the slopes.
5How do I deal with work whilst I’m away?
Whilst we encourage you to make the most of the trip, we understand that work still needs to get done. There is WIF in all accommodation so you could work in your room or on the balcony. If you prefer a shared space we will also have the PropSki Hub co-working area. This central space is also a chance for you to meet other people from the industry & even brainstorm over current work projects together.
6What if I can’t take a whole week off work?
Whilst we want you to take full advantage of all the PropSki events and to maximise the trip, we understand sometimes taking a whole week off work is not feasible. We offer a short trip too from Saturday to Wednesday morning. You are obviously welcome to stay as long or as little as you like on the trip you will just need to make your own travel arrangements if you want to leave early. NUCO our travel agent can help with that to find you the most convenient and cost effective way back.
7How can I get my employees / colleagues involved?
We have a succinct info document which summarises the trip well. We also host events in the UK so come along to one of those to meet the people who come on the trip. If you have any other questions, then we'll happily talk through your options and answer any questions you've got. Fill in the contact form on this page and we will be in touch.
8Can I organise my own accommodation?
PropSki is best experienced in the PropSki organised accommodation and there are a variety of options to suit all requirements. This year we are not offering PropSki Events Passes.
9How does the apartment allocation / accommodation work?
We have hotel-style accommodation this year, which is typically twin rooms. As you go through the booking system you will have the chance to stipulate single occupancy or upgrade your standard room to a premium room. Allocation of the rooms will be done through the room booking system in early December.
